Manchester was once one of the country’s great industrial towns and one of the world’s major centres of textile production ( remember Gandhiji introduced Khadi to fail the textile industry of Manchester) Manchester was at one time seen as emblematic of all the worst excess of industrial capitalism .Finally Manchester said goodbye to the large scale industry . In 1996 the IRA bomb destroyed parts of the main shopping district .
Manchester’s image has been increased by vibrant music scene and the success of Manchester United , who in 1990’s claimed six league championships and two European trophies in foot ball.
